Commercial Bank of Ceylon gives grant to Shakti Foundation

Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC has extended a corporate social responsibility grant to Shakti Foundation for its Caregiver Skills Development Programme. Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC Chief Executive Officer Najith Meewanage formally handed over the cheque to Shakti Foundation Deputy Executive Director Imran Ahmed. The initiative aims to provide government-accredited vocational training and certification to underprivileged youths, with 70% of the beneficiaries targeted to be women. The six-month programme will include classroom training, internships, career counselling and job placement
